You'll hear a tour guide welcoming visitors at a maritime museum on the south coast of England. Answer the ten questions as you listen.
Before you start
Use the preview time to read ahead.
Every section gives you 30–45 seconds to preview the questions before audio plays. Most candidates relax during this gift. Don't. Underline keywords in each question. When the audio plays, your ears already know what's coming.
Spelling counts — every letter.
"Recieve" instead of "receive" is marked wrong, even if you heard the word correctly. Names and addresses are spelled out in the audio specifically to test this. Slow down on Section 1 form-filling questions — the audio gives you time, use it.
When you miss one, immediately let it go.
You'll miss an answer — everyone does. The mistake is freezing for ten seconds trying to remember it, then missing the next three too. The instant you realise you've lost one, move your eyes to the next question. The exam continues whether you do or not.
On the next screen, take as long as you like to read the questions. When ready, click Start Audio. Audio plays once with no pause. Submit when you are done.
